Slap Booth was a project that gave the public a chance to experience the feelings of an intense and emotionally charged exchange without emotional investment. A twist on the traditional “kissing booth,” patrons paid $1 to enter into a contract with a “slapper” who would publicly slap them across the face. This act allowed the patron to investigate/satisfy desires for vulnerability, intense physical sensation and public humiliation. By paying for the service, patrons were free to explore normally forbidden desires and assumed responsibility for the emotional consequences of that freedom.
